    Forms often specify more than "a copy": both sides of an identity document on one sheet, at the original size, not enlarged to fill the page. Phone photographs of a card are neither — and a stretched-to-fit copy is refused, because size is part of what the document is being checked for.

    So the two requirements are exact size and both sides together, and both are arithmetic. Set the document type, and the card is placed at the size it actually is, with the second side beside it for a double-sided document or below it for a passport page.

    Frequently asked questions

    How do I photograph the card properly?

    Flat on a plain surface, lit from above rather than from a window at the side, with the whole card inside the frame and your shadow out of it. Do not crop tight to the edge — the tool needs a little slack to place the card cleanly.

    Will the printed size match the original?

    If you print at 100%, yes. Most ID cards are ID-1 format: 85.6 × 54 mm, the same as a bank card, so you can check the result against a card you have. If it does not match, the printer is scaling — see the calibration sheet.

    Can I put more than two sides on one sheet?

    Yes. Add as many as you need; they flow across the sheet left to right and top to bottom at their true size, and a new sheet starts when the row would fall off the bottom.

    Is my ID uploaded to a server?

    No. This is the tool where that question matters most, and the answer is the reason the tool exists in a browser rather than as an app: identity documents are composed on your device and never leave it.
